Welcome to Coquet High School, I hope this web site will give you an insight into the life of the school. I believe that each student is an important individual, and I am proud to be working with a team of staff who are committed to helping young people succeed. I feel personally responsible for each and every student in the school and believe that by working together with parents, my staff will be able to give young people all that they need to be equipped for the future.Coquet High School is an Engineering School, but we pride ourselves in providing a broad and balanced curriculum that is relevant to all students. English, Art, Music, Sport, Modern Foreign Languages, History, Geography and Religious Studies are all valued just as highly as our specialist core subjects of Maths, Science and Technology, together with ICT. We provide opportunities for gifted and talented students and support for those with Special Educational Needs. At Key Stage 4 the school offers work-related learning in areas as diverse as equine studies, hairdressing, construction and horticulture. Our vibrant Sixth Form offers both vocational and traditional courses that prepare students for university or the workplace. On top of the rich curriculum we offer, students have opportunities out of the classroom to join clubs and take part in community activities including the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme and Millennium Volunteers.Young people only have one chance at their schooling and my aim is to ensure that the education they receive at Coquet High is of the highest possible standard. Feedback from students and parents has shown that young people quickly settle into this caring school that has a strong family ethos. I invite you to visit the school and see for yourself all that Coquet High School has to offer. I look forward to welcoming you to the school.
